Role: Genomics Data Scientist - Diverse Data


Looking for a Genomic Data Scientist to join a collaborative team working towards bringing genomic healthcare to all who need it, alongside enabling new scientific discovery and medical insights. This role will be leading a team of Data Scientists and bringing technical leadership to pioneer the use of long read whole genome sequencing in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical and scientific leadership in the areas of Diverse data
Experience of human population genetics or genetic epidemiology, ideally with a focus on diverse populations (e.g. ancestry inference, genetic mapping in stratified populations, polygenic risk scores in diverse populations, etc)
Development, implementation, and improvement of best practices for genome analysis.
Benchmarking and improving tools for processing, analysis and interpretation of whole genome data (e.g. alignment, variant callers, annotation, interpretation, quality control).


Requirements:

PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or similar subject
Extensive experience in cancer genomics, approaches to call somatic variation and emerging pan-genomic markers & clinical interpretation of cancer genomes
Familiarity with long read sequencing technologies, analytical algorithms and applications.
