Systems / Maintenance Technician, Surrey

My client, a leading utilities business focused on engineering, operations, plant construction, equipment supply and specialist treatment chemicals is looking for a Systems Technician who can maintain the instrumentation, control and SCADA systems in line with ISO 9001:2008 quality system procedures as well as carry out routine maintenance and investigate, diagnose and rectify faults in ICA systems.

As part of the Systems team, you will be expected to provide out of hours support on a rostered basis as well as standby duty whilst working conditions vary from working outdoors with C&I equipment, to control room and office environments. Also, some elements of the job require working at heights and within confined spaces. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated individual who is able to work both individually and as part of a team.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position include:
·To investigate, diagnose and rectify faults in ICA systems, keeping equipment downtime to a minimum.
·To maintain up-to-date and comprehensive records of all equipment and work carried out within the area of responsibility.
·To ensure that all relevant Operations staff are kept informed of any work carried out on ICA systems that affects the safe and reliable operation of the process involved.
·To advise and notify the Treatment Works Manager and the Systems Manager of issues pertaining to ICA plant replacements and developments.
·To maintain an adequate holding of spare parts in order that system downtimes are minimised.

Qualifications / Requirements:
·BTEC Diploma in a related technical subject Experience
·Process instrumentation, Industrial Control Systems.
·At least two years working in the water or related process industry working with SCADA, Control and Instrumentation systems.
·Windows operating systems.
·Working knowledge of MS Office software packages.
