World renowned manufacturing client based in Derby requires Assembly Fitters for the automotive production line for an initial twelve-months contract. This is an opportunity for qualified mechanically biased engineers with a three apprenticeship to become part of the illustrious story of the power in the Peak District. Join as a Fitter within the Assembly & Test Derby Facility (PTF - Production Test Facility).

Here are the responsibilities you as a local talent will be doing

* Fitting of engine components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Raising non-conformance issues
* Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and Customer delivery commitments
* Working in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications
* Participating in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice
* Ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained in the workplace
* It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3, and BTEC national or equivalent qualification
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality
* Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate relevant fitting experience of engine components
* PC literacy is essential
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable mind-set
* Candidates must be willing to develop new skills and undertake training to be able to operate in a flexible manner to support the Business needs
* Knowledge of lean principles and process basics
* Problem solving skills
* Manual handling essential due to the nature of the job
* Comfortable working at height
* Knowledge of quality tools, systems, and procedures
* Operating to time and cost will be essential
* Has good interpersonal skills
* Worked in a customer focused environment that is subject to change

* Location Derby
* 38 Hours Per Week - 5 days = Shift Pattern: 3 Shift = The roles are based on a 3 shift weekly rotating pattern of Morning, Nights and Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 6-2 / 2-9 / 9-6
