Context & Mission
Our client in the Banking Sector is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support ongoing initiatives within the Risk & Credits Tribe, specifically in the Risk Cluster. This cluster is responsible for maintaining and evolving the bank's risk data and calculation infrastructure.
Several major projects are currently underway, including:
Sarissa: Enhancements to the central risk calculator, including:
New versions and scope extensions of acquisition scoring
New versions and scope extensions of automated decision models
Implementation of Basel II parameters
New Corporate Law: Integration of newly published accounting schemas by the NBB
Loan Origination and Monitoring: Implementation of regulatory guidelines
Basel III compliance initiatives
The overarching goal is to consolidate risk calculations into a single, robust infrastructure, allowing for easier integration of models, simplification, cost reduction, and increased reusability. The target architecture has been live in production since 2016 and continues to evolve to support credit acquisition, risk monitoring, reporting, and capital management.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:
Translating business requirements from the Risk department into detailed functional and technical specifications.
Conducting functional analysis to convert business needs into system requirements.
Performing technical analysis by translating business logic into pseudo-code.
Implementing risk-related algorithms using C# (FACT).
Developing SQL queries (primarily in Sybase IQ) for reporting.
Using SQL (SQL Server, Oracle) for testing and analysis purposes.
Documenting ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data transformation rules.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Experience (Mandatory)
4-5 years of experience in functional analysis and software development.
Strong experience with C# and SQL in large-scale IT environments.
Expertise in data and process analysis, documentation, and testing.
Proficient in MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Deep knowledge of SQL (query writing, optimization).
Functional and technical analysis skills.
Testing and validation capabilities.
Technical Experience (Preferred)
Programming capabilities beyond basic scripting.
Experience with XML/SOAP.
Additional expertise in C# programming.
Familiarity with MQ Series.
Business Experience
Mandatory: Experience working in a large company or complex enterprise environment.
Preferred:
Knowledge of credit and credit risk (Basel II regulations, etc.).
Background in economics or mathematics.
Familiarity with the business or IT operations within the banking domain.
