The 'WORKS' procurement team is responsible for defining the purchasing strategy, sourcing construction projects, managing supplier relations, and overseeing contracts for both Belgium and Germany. This includes high-voltage substation projects, high-voltage line construction, and underground cable installations.
To strengthen the team, we are seeking a Buyer / Contract Manager to join the Lines and Cables division and drive procurement excellence.
Service Description
The Buyer / Contract Manager will:
Independently manage procurement files from initial request to contract award, including tendering, supplier selection, and negotiations.
Develop and implement a structured and innovative procurement strategy aligned with corporate purchasing policies.
Understand internal customer needs, market conditions, challenges, and opportunities to foster innovation and maintain strong technical knowledge.
Conduct product strategy development and market analysis.
Support supplier management by maintaining long-term relationships with key contractors, identifying risks and opportunities, and leading improvement initiatives.
Participate in pre-tender phases for strategic projects.
Lead multifunctional teams (MFTs) and working groups to drive impactful results and co-creation.
Oversee commercial and contractual aspects of ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with contract conditions (quality, scheduling, safety, etc.).
Conduct contract negotiations, handle additional cost requests, and perform site visits when necessary.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support energy transition initiatives, collaborating closely with the Supplier Manager.
Align with procurement counterparts in Germany to share insights and best practices.
Leverage market and category expertise during contract negotiations.
Additional Requirements
Education: Master's degree in a technical or commercial field, or equivalent experience in a technical-economic environment.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant procurement experience in a technical environment.
Strong fit within the WORKS department team is essential.
Regular on-site presence and travel within Belgium.
