Quality Control Laboratory Technician required in Bridgend - Contract

To work as part of a quality team supporting and delivering on key metrics including safety and production. Involves shift operation covering a variety of processes, procedures, and equipment to produce a range of Food Safety products. Up to three years of quality control experience necessary.

*Safety
oWork safely in line with behavioural safety principles
oCompliance with PPE requirements
oSpot potential hazards and report promptly to your supervisor.
oAttend all mandatory safety training

*Quality
oEnsure that the product meets customer requirements
oComply with the product specifications
oCarry out quality control testing at different stages of manufacturing
oResolve problems as they occur e.g., reconciliation issues, out of specification readings
oReport any issues to Production operators/ Team Leaders / Supervisors immediately
oEnsure the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages

*Laboratory
oTo undertake testing using standard and specialised laboratory equipment to defined procedures.
oTo complete all relevant documentation.
oTo communicate effectively with other departments e.g., test results.
oLearn departments processes, procedures and equipment and apply this learning consistently
oProvide a full and detailed shift handover


*Knowledge & Skills


oUnderstanding of quality systems
oPrevious manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
oCommunicate well with people at all levels
oGood team worker
oAble to work alone
oGood analytical skills
oBasic IT skills e.g. MS Word, Excel
oPrevious pipetting experience required.
oWorks well in a changing and challenging environment
oExcellent attention to detail and follows instructions precisely
oWorking shifts essential
